CUSTOMIZATION / START WITH A BASE PRODUCT
Existing product customization applies your brand, color, finish and packaging to a suitable current product while retaining its established design.
When a suitable base already exists, this can be the shortest route to market because less engineering and tooling work is needed. We confirm availability, scope, sampling and verification for your project, and identify any changes that need engineering review.
01 / DEFINE THE STARTING POINT
An existing design is useful when its function, dimensions and intended use already fit your brief.
Identify the product and the function to retain.
Agree artwork, color, finish, packaging and supported options.
Review representative samples and written requirements.
Produce and inspect against the confirmed configuration.
For a promotional product, retail gift or branded accessory, the first decision is whether the underlying product is suitable. A logo cannot resolve an unsuitable battery arrangement, an incorrect age application or a function that misses the buyer’s needs. We review those questions before treating the project as straightforward customization.
Identify the exact reference and explain which characteristics must remain unchanged. A similar-looking sample may use different materials, electronics or construction. Confirming the baseline avoids quoting one configuration and approving another.
If your brief requires a new enclosure, revised component layout or additional function, Product Adaptation provides the engineering route. If no suitable baseline exists, start with a development brief.
02 / AGREE THE OPTIONS
The available choices depend on the selected product, its materials and the proposed quantity.
| Area | Possible scope | What needs agreement |
|---|---|---|
| Brand artwork | Logo, printed information or other authorized graphics. | Artwork revision, placement, readability and decoration suitability on the actual surface. |
| Color and finish | An agreed color or surface appearance where the base design and process allow it. | Material compatibility, appearance reference, durability and any effect on fit or function. |
| Packaging | A branded box, insert, instructions or other agreed presentation. | Artwork, product protection, pack contents, labels and consistency between samples and production. |
| Existing configuration | A supported option already compatible with the base product. | The exact parts and function retained; whether the change needs additional engineering or validation. |
On smaller screens, scroll the table to see every column.
Provide the final content for markings and instructions, including language versions and destination requirements. Artwork approval should cover spelling, placement and the claimed product features. A packaging refresh must still protect the product and present its use accurately.
03 / EXPLAIN THE APPLICATION
These examples illustrate customization decisions. Product availability and technical suitability need confirmation.
04 / CONFIRM BEFORE PRODUCTION
A digital mockup explains the proposal. A representative sample helps establish what production must match.
CUSTOMER DECISION
Review the product, decoration and packaging together. Record the sample identity, approved artwork revision, color or finish reference, required function and any remaining conditions. Consolidated feedback helps prevent conflicting instructions.
A change after approval may affect samples, purchased materials, testing, cost or delivery. We review the impact and confirm the revised scope before implementation. The quality control process connects agreed requirements with production checks.
PROJECT OUTPUTS
Agree the applicable deliverables, their revision and approval owner in the project scope. The output must support the next decision.
Confirm the scope and acceptance criteria before authorizing the next stage.
A confirmed base-product and customization scope, with engineering questions identified.
An agreed artwork, color, finish and packaging approval reference, as applicable.
A sampling and verification plan for the changes being made.
The approved production configuration and acceptance criteria.
BUYER QUESTIONS
Start with your current product information and the decision you need to make.
Private labeling usually applies your authorized brand and presentation to an existing product. It still requires a suitable base, defined artwork and sample approval. A different mechanism, housing layout or electronic function can introduce engineering work and change the appropriate service route.
Availability must be checked for the specific product and configuration. Application examples on this page are briefs we can assess, not an inventory list. Send the reference you have in mind so we can review the design, permitted use and practical customization options.
Yes, a sample can help explain your requirements. Tell us whether you own the design, have permission to use it, or are providing a reference for a different product. We review rights and technical suitability before agreeing what work can proceed.
A picture helps communicate direction, but lighting and screens affect its appearance. Supply an agreed color reference and confirm the result on the proposed material and finish. The approved physical sample and written criteria establish the production reference.
The base product, material or color batches, decoration, packaging, quantity and required verification all affect feasibility and timing. We confirm these after reviewing the brief. Existing tooling can reduce development work, but it does not remove sampling, purchasing or approval steps.
That depends on the exact product, changes, intended users and destination market. Provide available reports and the configuration they describe. Changes to materials, electronics, packaging or claims may require further review or testing before commercial shipment.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Start with a product reference and mark the changes you want. Separate essential requirements from preferences so the first review can identify a workable scope.
Use the inquiry form to prepare your brief, or share it through your existing project contact. Agree a confidential exchange before sending restricted drawings, code or customer information. Downloading a brief does not submit a project.
